I's is a manga from Masakazu Katsura,
the creator of Video Girl Ai, Shadow Lady, and DNA². I's,
pronounced "eyes," is so named because the main characters first names
(Ichitaka, Iori, Itsuki, and Izumi) each begin with the letter "I."
Published from the Fall of 1997 through the Spring of 2000, I's spans
15 volumes and 143 chapters. Like most of Katsura's mangas I's is a
romantic comedy about shy characters unable to confess their true
feelings for each other. I's is the story of 16 year old Ichitaka Seto
and his crush on his classmate, the beautiful Iori Yoshizuki. The
comedic but often very emotional story, along with the wonderfully
detailed artwork combine to form a great manga.
